Duckity's Credibility Problem
Quick update on my last blog post, I realized Duckity’s first problem is not gonna be anything other than credibility. The landing page in its current state does not much at all to establish credibility. People click on my links, visit my website, but they leave without signing up.
I had a user tell me that they would not test Duckity because they didn’t know whether it worked. The two problems I had addressing this properly were simple:
- I thought I had little way to prove credibility since I had little security background,
- In Payphone (past successful project of mine), I knew users were onto something when more than one of them brought up the same issue. This was only one guy, so I was quicker to filter it out.
I’m still on time to fix it, yet I’m also going to have to be asleep soon since tomorrow I have to wake up early to launch Duckity on Hacker News and review Product Hunt comments.
About the problem more in detail, the landing page has a section that speaks about how it works, but it does little to dive into any more details. Move that to the very top of my priority things to work on, it’s getting tackled tomorrow first thing.
